We are getting closer to Lunar New Year 2021 of the Ox!  Did you like the fun DIY Red Envelope craft?  Let us find out more about Niu Lang and Niu Niang this week.  They are also here sharing desktop wallpapers with you!

Niu Lang 牛郎, like his name suggests, is incredibly an incredibly devoted, disciplined and diligent gentleman!  Niu Lang’s name is a romanization of 牛郎 which literally means “ox gentleman.”

Niu Niang 牛娘 is Niu Lang’s long time sweetheart who is equally as loyal, diligent and hardworking as Niu Lang . Her name is a romanization of 牛娘 which literally means “Ox wife.”

Niu Lang and Niu Niang enjoy each other’s company but also very much enjoy time alone doing their own thing like reading, playing games with their little ones and they greatly enjoy having fun with friends!

Niu Nang and Niu Niang have two babies named Niu Jai and Niu Lui. Their names are a romanization of 牛仔 (coy bow) and 牛女 (cow girl). The whole family here wishes you good fortune in the auspicious Year of the Ox!

The Lunar New Year of the Ox is fast approaching on February 12, 2021! The Ox is the second animal of the Chinese zodiac cycle (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig).  They are known for being hardworking, disciplined and diligent.
