I love shooting newborns and meeting new parents for the first time. That moment we first met, I can see love all over their faces, anxiousness as they just stepped into a realm of new parenthood territory and those first moments of excitement at welcoming a new mini me into the world. Lady A was the sweetest baby girl ever! She gave me lots of beautiful smiles, slept sweetly after getting snuggled and looked like a perfect mini mommy & daddy! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful session.

Cake smashes are so fun to shoot. When a return client asked me to do her daughters one year old cake smash, of course I said yes! It was also wonderful to see how big Lady S has gotten. This is another reason why I love what I do – seeing the babies grow up is oh so sweet~
Momma requested that the cake smash have a pink color theme and that’s what we planned for. We found the sweetest asymmetrical pink tutu dress on Zulily which was converted into a bubble dress. The beautiful cake was designed by Sweet Grace, Cake Designs. And the cake stand also came from Zulily. I opted not to add in any tiaras, background poofs, balloons to keep the focus on Lady S and we loved how the images turned out. Doesn’t Lady S look super adorable? She loved playing with the princess crown on the cake during the session.
A perk to shooting cake smashes is it smells divine afterwards and everyone gets to eat some yummy cake! Happy 1st Birthday Lady S!

I am easing off of maternity leave with a 15 minute mini session of Lady A for her one hundred day old photo shoot. I missed squishing cute babies so much and Lady A was full of smiles for mommy. While processing photos from the shoot, I’m beginning to fall in love with the whole vintage look for photographed babies – may begin to incorporate some more of that look into my processing style! In honor of Lunar New Year 2014, we debut a new character named Sweet Honey, the Happy Horse!

Sweet Honey’s hair is golden brown, like the color of honey, and her temperament is super sweet – hence the name Sweet Honey! She loves to eat clementines and is often seen carrying two extra ones around for good measure. You never know when you might get hungry and need a snack! Sweet Honey is very kindhearted and often finds it difficult to say no so she sometimes gets into situations over her head. But one thing’s for sure, once Sweet Honey becomes your friend, she is loyal and true to the end 🙂
