{DIY} Cinnamon Pine Cones
The holidays are coming! This year I’m feeling especially festive because it’ll be baby’s first Christmas 🙂 To get the house decorated up, I decided to make cinnamon pine cones by gathering pine cones fallen from our neighbors’ trees. They can even be dressed up with glitter or baking soda to look like snow has fallen. I left them as is because I love the rich cinnamon color on the cones and they make the room smell super yummy.
Here’s how to make cinnamon pine cones.
- Gather or buy a bag of pine cones that look full and are not damaged
- Line a baking pan with aluminum foil
- Rinse each pine cone under scalding hot water to get rid of any creepy crawlies
- Place the rinsed pine cones on the baking pan
- Sprinkle cinnamon on the pine cones generously
- Bake the pine cones at 250 degrees for one hour to get rid of any other hitchhikers that might be trapped in the pine cone
- Place the pine cones in decorative container of your choice and dress to your liking.
Enjoy the simple and beautiful decor that you just made!
